Your email, used for one thing.

When you sign up for updates, we use your email address only to send you news about Rentrospect. This page explains what we collect, who handles it and how to get it removed.

We collect your email, the role you choose and, if you add it, your city.
We use them only to send Rentrospect updates and to understand who is interested and where.
We never sell or rent your information, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
You can unsubscribe from any email, or ask us to delete your details, at any time.

Who we are

Rentrospect is an independent project based in Washington, DC. It is not a government website. You can reach us at info@rentrospect.com.

What we collect

When you use the “Keep me posted” form, we collect:

your email address;
the role you choose (for example renter, owner or property manager, or city staff);
your city, if you choose to enter it;
the date you signed up and the date you confirmed.

Please don’t put anything else in the city box. We don’t ask for your name, address or any financial details.

How we use it

Only to send you Rentrospect updates: news about the project, and word when Rentrospect comes to your city. We use your role and city to make those updates relevant, and in totals, to decide where to go next. We don’t add you to any other list.

Confirming your sign-up

After you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm. Until you click the link in it, we won’t send you updates. If you don’t confirm, we remove the sign-up.

Who handles your information

We keep the list with Brevo, an email service that stores it and sends our updates for us. Brevo may use it only to provide that service to us. Like most email services, Brevo tells us whether an update was opened or a link in it was clicked; we look at those figures only in totals.

Only members of the Rentrospect team can see the list. We never sell or rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Unsubscribing and deleting your details

Every update has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect straight away. You can also email info@rentrospect.com.

When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. We keep your address on a “do not email” list so it isn’t added again by mistake, unless you ask us to delete it completely. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, just email us and we’ll do it within 30 days.

This website

This site has no ads, and no tracking or analytics cookies. Its fonts come from Google Fonts, so when the page loads, your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address.

Children

Rentrospect updates are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
